Anything that has meaning to you and that you are comfortable with sharing… The question of pictures has been brought up and it does pose some issues; such as confidentiality. Well, that only arises when you send in pictures of other people. You must understand the risk and that I am not responsible for anything that happens. I’m sorry, but no “oh that looks neat” pictures or “found photos” (I love ‘em, but I can’t afford the price of printing pictures). I trust you guys to know what you think will work and what won’t. 3D objects are pretty much impossible to put in a zine. Something like a key can be scanned and put in, but a bottle or cup wouldn’t work. PLEASE, PLEASE REMEMBER that anything you send will not be returned to you if you don’t have a return-address. With no return address comes confidentially, though. But even with return-addresses you don’t have to put your name. Eh, just think about it first. Please specify if you wish to have things returned (like a letter or photo), also have an address I can send them to. If you don’t wish to risk this, send in the transcript of the letter or a scan of the picture. Everything is printed in black and white. All submissions are posted as-is. These are just ideas/guidlines. This is just to help you get an idea. They aren't the only things you can submit. Letters; This is pretty much the foundation of the zine. Have you ever wanted to tell someone something, but couldn't? Maybe you'd write them this long or short letter, confessing your hate, love, problems or joy, but you could never just send it to them. Perhaps you received a letter and it means something to you. It filled you with rage, love, excitement, sadness and maybe you'd like to share it with someone who doesn't know who you are, doesn't know your story. Secrets & Opinions Did something you shouldn't have? Want to just scream what you believe (in)? Crushin' on someone? Maybe you just want to get something - anything - off your chest. Well, this is what it's all about. You don't have to write a paragraph, or hell, you can. Something as simple as "____ sucks" or "I like him/her" is perfectly fine. They are your words, do what you want with them. Instant Messages & Emails; Maybe you had a conversation with someone through IM (instant messanger) or email that you really enjoyed or found important. It somehow affected you. It can be just a few lines or a whole correspondence. Same thing goes with emails. Whether it be that you sent that email or they sent you one, it is fine. You can also send in correspondences. Quotes, Poems & Prose; Wrote something? Poem, lyrics, prose? Maybe you didn't write it, but it has meaning to you. Send it in! But give credit where credit is due. Give the poets name! Lyrics, in my opinion, don't need credit. I suppose you can put poems and lyrics in the same section. Just be careful. I don't have a set character limit for prose, but you know, not a novel. Well, a novel wouldn't be prose, would it. Hm. Anyway, a quote can be a a few lines of a song, a poem or it can be something someone - anyone - said. Give credit if you wish. Dreams & Nightmares; Crazy dream last night? Maybe a dream that had you wishing you didn't wake up? Perhaps you were glad you woke up. Share it and get it off your chest, if you'd like. Missed Connections; Well, missed connections are just what they are. You know, you see someone on the street and they catch your eye? Bam, missed connection. Maybe you've lost touch with someone. This isn't really a strong section in this zine because, well, I'm not sure. It is pretty vague.
